Barge pole at sunrise

Canon 7d/ Canon EF 50mm F1.8 lens, Induro 8m alloy tripod with bhd-1 ballhead UV filter. ISO 100 50mm F 11 @ 1/4

This weekend I was out exploring the waterfront at sunrise and as always these barge poles make for excellent subjects. I love these poles and trying to include them in a composition. The sun is currently rising from behind the camera position which makes for these awesome pinks and purples in the other direction over the Lake. The cloud cover this weekend was, well…crappy but I managed to squeeze out some good early morning work.

  1. Awesome! Nice capture with the sail boat in the back too! I’ve tried many times to get something like this; never in the right place at the right time though, even when I wait!

  2. OK… Call me crazy, but it reminds me of an older couple with their arms around each other looking out at the water…. It’s very beautiful & i love the cool tones…
