I really do enjoy waking up with the sun and exploring the landscape of the Burlington, Vermont waterfront. There is a stillness in the air as the morning clouds flow in the sky over Perkins Pier and I am always pleasantly surprised by the compositions I see that move me to make images of the area. This morning in the above image was no different as the water levels were on the low side at the time I made the image.
Behind the Echo Center is a sailors and decommissioned ship memorial dedicated to our very own Senator Patrick Leahy. At the base of the memorial is a small beach of loose rock which looks out on the breakwater of our waterfront area. There are some old barges and a few of these barge poles which when combined with a sunrise and some fast-moving clouds make for some great photo ops.
